How do I check a Illinois contractor's license?
Search by registration number or business name above. SubSub reads City and county building departments's public records and shows the status, the expiry date, the bond and the insurance on file.
Does Illinois require contractors to be licensed?
Illinois has no state general-contractor license, and Chicago and other municipalities license instead. Two trades are exceptions and are licensed by the state: roofing contractors, and plumbers.
